Design Decisions & the update on Spring sessionForms

We’ve been thinking about what to present on Monday. One thing we hope to have is a create a course page in our PLE by then. We’re getting there but right now we’re at a cross road.

Should we already show the previews of each learning activity every time a user adds one to the course?

I’ve thought about my answer head-first style:

fireside-preview

Having thought about that I realized that we have minor components to build for this feature.

1. A list of courses in the myPage page (redundant) which when clicked
leads directly to…

2. A view course page which displays the learning activity description. When the learner clicks on the learning activity description, a preview shows (for blogs) and a go to link button shows as well. For videos, the video is embedded directly c/o Paolo. For documents/pdfs a new window appears directing you to the google docs.

Looks good.

Let me include here what I’ve found about my previous post’s problem.
I discovered in the logs that the form state was not being saved to session because I was getting a

java.io.NotSerializableException

The solution? have my domain objects implement serializable. That easy. Sheesh.
