Hello World XML experiment 2

I thought a better way to write xml in the servlet’s writer was to use the “&-l-t;” and “&-g-t;” escape characters so that the browser would also print the < and > to show for instance . Apparently doing that produces not well formed xml:

Furthermore a view source of the browser reveals a far cry from my original intention:

<?xml-stylesheet type='text/css'?>
<hardwire:module xmlns:hardwire="">
<hardwire:message>Hello World!</hardwire:message></hardwire:module>
